About this event

Patients and families of the Cancer Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia face many challenges communicating and collaborating with school. The COVID-19 pandemic has made managing educational needs even more stressful. In this Cancer Center Town Hall, Krys Belc, MEd, MFA, our outpatient education coordinator, will present wide-ranging guidance to make learning during the pandemic more fruitful for patients.

Geared for all school-age patients and those in college, this presentation will involve a discussion of patients’ rights during online and hybrid learning, strategies for learning at home, and tips for effective communication with school support staff.

This Town Hall is part of a monthly educational series, please stay tuned for more information on lectures to come in 2021.

CHOP experts speaking at the Town Hall:

  • Susan Coffin MD, MPH, attending physician for the Division of Infectious Diseases
  • Krys Belc, MEd, MFA, Outpatient Education Coordinator at University City Campus
